Football Fives Tournament at AAU

Football Fives Tournament at AAUKhalifah high school won the cup for the First AAU Football Fives Championship for High Schools which AAU organized in line with its mission to interact with the community and trigger creativity among high schools through competition.

The championship, held in a groups system, included 23 high school teams; with 5 players on each team.

Competition was tight among schools to get to the final match and win the cup. The players’ determination and fortitude were apparent during the matches especially the quarter final and onwards. The top 6 schools made it to the quarter finals, and the matches that followed were charged with energy by players as well as the audience that came to cheer.

Following a close competition in the finals, Khalifah high school won the championship and landed first while Dar Al Uloom school came second and Al Safwa school came third.

AAU President, Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, crowned the winners in the attendance of participating schools representatives.

On this occasion, Prof. El Refae, reiterated that organizing sports events of this kind is vital to develop the students’ talents, enhance their physical and mental abilities, and create a spirit of healthy competition.

This is the first annual tournament organized by AAU; it is to be held in the following years as well.
