Fifty students from Al Ain University have volunteered to take part in the Abu Dhabi Science Festival to take place from Nov. 14 – 23, 2013. The festival aims to inspire school students in the UAE and direct them towards future careers based on Science, Technology, and Innovation.
Dr. Zuhrieh Shana, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, mentioned that the AAU students are being trained by international experts to be able to carry out their tasks as science guides during the Abu Dhabi Science Festival. The volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in inspiring the youth by executing workshops and experiments, explaining the fascinating interactive exhibits, and presenting scientific shows. In addition, the students will enhance their inter-personal skills which will play a role in augmenting the societal role of the festival; the same skills will be of benefit to the students in their future professional careers.
