College of Pharmacy Students obtained 1st place in "Future Pharmacists" Competition

Students Mina Mouky and Nancy Al Hamami from the College of Pharmacy at Al Ain University obtained the First place for the best scientific poster in the “Second Future Pharmacist Day” competition organized by the University of Sharjah.

The poster talked about discovering new compounds to kill bacteria, Where this discovery would be the beginning of a new pharmaceutical industry to antibacterial agents. The project has been done under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Ghattas and Dr. Mohammed Al Sorakhi of the College of Pharmacy at Al Ain University.

On this occasion, Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor met the winners and supervisors, congratulated them, praised their efforts and encouraged them for more hard work and outstanding scientific research.

For his part, Dr. Khairi Mustafa, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, expressed his pride about the two students, stressing on the interest of the Pharmacy College to provide continuous support to students and its keen to give them the opportunity to participate in such competitions that encourage scientific researches and gain experience.

Dr. Ghattas and Dr. Al Sorakhi provided their special thanks to the University's administration for supporting scientific research and encouraging students to innovate.

It is worth to mention that, the two students have already won the Tenth best pharmacy student innovative poster award at the 23rd Dubai International Pharmaceuticals & Technologies Conference & Exhibition "DUPHAT 2018”.
