AAU Ranked 15th (Arab Region) and 4th (UAE) based on “THE”

  • Posted on:Nov 30, 2022

The “2022, Times Higher Education (THE) Arab University Rankings” has ranked “Al Ain University (AAU)”, 15th (Arab Region), and 4th (UAE). THE is a renowned ranking platform publishing world university rankings for almost two decades and helping the world's universities to achieve excellence. Moreover, “THE Arab University ranking” was introduced exclusively for the Arab Region in 2021 and AAU has not missed securing and improving its ranking position.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae (AAU President), expressed his appreciation for the remarkable reception of securing the 15th rank in the Arab region. He added AAU offers many diverse academic programs that are unique and distinguished and fulfill the community locally and regionally.

Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat (Vice President, Accreditation & QA) expressed his happiness about the distinguished position achieved by AAU, especially from being ranked 27th in “the 2021 THE Arab University Ranking” to 15th in “the 2022 THE Arab University Ranking”. He also stated that such a result would not have been possible without the continuous efforts of all AAU stakeholders and that AAU is keen to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the development of society.

It is worth mentioning that THE methodology is based on World University Rankings, along with some new metrics which are included to reflect the features and missions of universities in the Middle East and North Africa. Universities are sorted across all their core missions – teaching, scientific research, citation and international outlook to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons.
