A Delegation from Al Ain University Visits Al Ain Municipality to Strengthen Mutual Cooperation

As part of efforts to enhance institutional collaboration and exchange expertise, a delegation from Al Ain University visited Al Ain Municipality. The delegation was led by Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh, Vice Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and Prof. Ghaleb Al Refae, President of the University. The delegation was received by H.E. Rashid Musabbah Al Menhali, Director General of Al Ain Municipality.

This visit coincides with the “Year of Community 2024,” reflecting the UAE’s commitment to promoting values of giving and social cohesion. Both sides emphasized the importance of activating joint community initiatives targeting various segments of society through educational, developmental, and awareness activities that contribute to enhancing quality of life and fostering a positive spirit of citizenship.

H.E. Rashid Al Menhali highlighted the importance of collaborating with the university to implement community initiatives and development projects that serve the public interest and contribute to achieving the future vision of Al Ain City. This cooperation is part of an integrated framework to improve the quality of life and support all segments of society. Discussions also focused on avenues for cooperation in education, training, and knowledge exchange, all of which support the city’s development goals. The visit represents a positive step toward building strategic partnerships between academic institutions and government entities. He also praised Al Ain University’s role in preparing and qualifying national talents for the labor market.

Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh reaffirmed Al Ain University’s belief in the importance of institutional partnerships to achieve integration between education and public service, noting that cooperation with Al Ain Municipality reflects the university’s commitment to serving the local community and contributing to the UAE’s vision for human and sustainable development, while strengthening ties with government institutions.

For his part, Prof. Ghaleb Al Refae emphasized the significance of such meetings in supporting the university’s continuous efforts to align educational outcomes with labor market needs, through innovative academic and training programs that prepare students to actively contribute to vital sectors and sustainable development efforts.
