Lecture on the Impact of Social Media on the Emirati Dialect and Promoting Cultural Awareness

The Deanship of Student Affairs at the Abu Dhabi Campus organized an awareness lecture titled “The Impact of Electronics on the Emirati Dialect”, in cooperation with the Women Association “Sanad Lil Watan” and the National Identity Pioneers Program of the National Fund. The lecture aimed to shed light on the impact of electronic devices and social media on the local dialect and its implications for societal and cultural identity.
The lecture was delivered by Ms. Nada Abu Shabs, and witnessed notable attendance and interaction from students, who shared their opinions and insights on the linguistic changes affecting the Emirati dialect as a result of the increasing use of technology. This contributed to enriching the discussion and presenting diverse perspectives on the topic.
The event also included interactive discussions and competitions aimed at raising students’ awareness of the importance of preserving the Emirati dialect, while maintaining a balance between technological advancement and the protection of linguistic and cultural heritage.
