Students’ Awareness of Consumer Rights and Responsibilities

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain Campus organized an awareness workshop titled “Consumer Protection,” delivered by Mr. Hamad Al Hassani from the Consumer Awareness Section at the Department of Economic Development.
The workshop aimed to raise students’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities as consumers and to equip them with the knowledge needed to make informed and responsible purchasing decisions, thereby protecting their interests and reducing unfair market practices. It also highlighted key laws and regulations related to consumer protection and provided practical guidance to help individuals deal with various consumer-related challenges. In addition, the session introduced the main government entities that consumers can approach to file different types of complaints.
This workshop comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote awareness among students and to reinforce their role as informed consumers capable of making well-considered decisions in their daily lives.
