Position Summary
The College of Dentistry is seeking a highly qualified Biomedical Engineer with specialized experience in establishing dental colleges and dental hospitals. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of dental equipment, as well as supporting the development of clinical and simulation facilities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor is in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in establishing dental colleges, dental hospitals, or large clinical facilities.
- Proven experience in installation and maintenance of dental equipment and clinical systems.
- Familiarity with dental simulation labs and digital dentistry systems is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infection control requirements.
- Experience working with international vendors and managing technical projects.
- Eligibility for professional practice/licensing in the UAE is an advantage.
Job Description:
- Participate in the planning and establishment of dental college and dental hospital facilities, including clinical, pre-clinical, and simulation laboratories.
- Oversee procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of dental equipment (e.g., dental chairs, imaging systems, sterilization units, simulation units).
- Ensure proper calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of all dental and biomedical equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project timelines.
- Support infrastructure planning, including suction systems (wet/dry), compressed air, infection control systems, and waste management systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., DOH, CAA, infection control standards).
- Develop and implement equipment maintenance schedules and asset management systems.
- Provide technical support and training to academic and clinical staff on equipment usage.
- Participate in accreditation processes and quality assurance activities related to facilities and equipment.
