AAU and ADEC Discuss Student Development

As part of the plan to enhance communication with educational institutions, a delegation from the College of Education at Al Ain University of Science and Technology visited Abu Dhabi Education Council to discuss developments in the education, and exchange ideas and suggestions on strategies for the advancement of students’ competencies at the Professional Diploma in Teaching program offered at AAU, in line with the strategy of the Higher Council of Education, and based on the vision Abu Dhabi 2030 calling for knowledge economy.
The visit included a meeting with the P-12 Policy Sector at ADEC to discuss the latest developments and programs offered at AAU, which are consistent with the key objectives sought by ADEC. These include creating an environment conducive to studies and attracting students from different countries, along with a discussion to facilitate the training of AAU student teachers at the undergraduate English Language Teacher and Information Technology Teacher Programs in ADEC schools to prepare them for future work as leaders, administrators and academics.
Dr. Nader Sanhury, Dean of the College of Education, underlined AAU’s commitment to enhancing scientific research at the university in line with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s directives to establish a community based on innovation and creating a comprehensive system for scientific research.
He added, “The meeting dealt with issues related to programs offered by AAU and teaching methods. During the meeting, ways of enhancing cooperation between AAU and ADEC were discussed as well as offering new academic programs and suggestions for educational programs congruent with ADEC’s objectives.”
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Lynne Pierson, ADEC P-12 Executive Director, commended AAU’s continued communication with ADEC and the effort it makes to support education in the UAE through distinguished educational programs and innovative scientific research.
