A Lecture Entitled "Economy Knowledge" at Al Ain University

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al-Ain University of Science and Technology, based in Abu Dhabi, and in cooperation with the Communty Engagement Committee in the Business College, has organized a lecture entitled "Economy Knowledge " by Dr. Sa'id al-Khatib, a member of the academic staff at the College of Business Administration in the presence of members of the academic and administrative bodies and university students.
The lecture began with a review of the concept of the economy knowledge and the international attention shifting from a traditional economy based on abundant factors of production to a knowledge-based economy. The importance of this shift is in building and enhancing competitiveness under conditions of competition and globalization which has attracted the attention of the economic and the thinking of policy makers in most countries of the world.
He also reviewed records of the fundamental differences between the traditional economy and the economy knowledge, in addition to its review of the dynamics of this knowledge, as well as the importance of the records of the education system and the use of modern technology and infrastructure for information and communication technologies in building a knowledge-based economy. At the end of the lecture, the presenter answered the audience’s questions and comments.
