Courses
The English Language Center (ELC), in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center (CEC), organizes and delivers IELTS preparation courses for Al Ain University students, staff, and members of the wider community. As an accredited IELTS test centre and a long-standing partner of the British Council, the ELC helps candidates build the skills and confidence they need to achieve their target scores.
The ELC also offers the Nomu Al Ghurair Talaaqa Program, presented in cooperation with the British Council and sponsored by the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation. Talaaqa is a free online English-for-work program that helps young people strengthen the English they need for employability and effective workplace communication. Each participant’s level is measured through the British Council English Score placement test, and those who complete the program receive a British Council certificate and British Council-endorsed badges.

-11 weeks of free online English training.
- Weekly 55-minute live group class.
-Weekly self-study practice. Extra learning resources and mini-lessons.
-British Council certificate on completion.
Eligibility criteria
Eligibility: Emirati and Arab learners aged 18- 35 years.
Residency: Applicants must be residents of any of the seven emirates in the UAE.
English Language Proficiency: Applicants must have a minimum CEFR A2 level, demonstrated through the British Council English Score placement test
